New Brand "Conkers" from England
Hello.
About "Conkers", which we started carrying this season.
Currently, it seems that its presence in Japan is extremely limited.
However, I have a feeling that it will start to spread little by little from now on.
"Conkers"
Founded as a homage to the English countryside, Conkers creates clothing and products themed around "organic luxury" and a laid back lifestyle.
A celebration of tradition, craftsmanship and local manufacturing is at the heart of this 'slowness' philosophy, with a focus on natural fibres and a reinterpretation of traditional British design codes to create modern silhouettes with a unique play on familiar textures and details.
Our store offers suits, blousons, and shirts, but the shirts were all sold out the weekend they arrived, so I didn't have a chance to take any photos.
Although we have only recently entered the Japanese market, we have already seen a positive response from fashion lovers.
"GARDENING BLAZER" (SALT&PEPPER)
I ordered a classic jacket for the first time in a while.
The "Gardening Blazer" is one of the brand's signature items.
The material used this time is deadstock fine-gauge cotton herringbone twill .
It is herringbone, but the ridges are very fine, giving it a different impression from the typical herringbone pattern.
Another key point is that the pattern on the fabric runs horizontally.
It features a calm slate grey colour and a dense, high-quality feel, and I am excited to see how it will change over time with washing.
Due to limited fabric, production is very limited.
The design features wide stand-notch lapels with a high break point, a left chest pocket and patch pockets at the waist, and can be worn like a coverall.
High armholes and clean lines create a neat semi-formal silhouette, while the texture of the herringbone twill adds a casual, functional aesthetic.
In other words, although it is a jacket, it is not too formal, so it has a good balance that makes it easy to wear as everyday wear.
The buttons are made in the UK by Courtney and Co.
It comes from the last remaining button factory in the UK.
This is a trusted factory that continues to produce high-quality buttons using only natural materials while preserving traditional British techniques.
Quite a dignified and beautiful appearance.
Next up, the bottoms
"GARDENING TROUSERS" (SALT&PEPPER)
These are matching pants.
The silhouette is unassuming, slightly thick and straight with two pleats at the front.
In the end, it's the silhouette that I personally like the most and that I find most useful.
It has easy-to-use military-spec zippers (made by IDEAL) and excels in natural functional beauty.
The product has been pre-washed, so there is no shrinkage and you can wear it as is.
Because pants are subjected to stress, you can enjoy the changes in the fabric even more.
It has been carefully and slowly made, and the more you wear it over the years, the more it will develop its own unique character and become more complete.
"MILITARY LINEN TRACK" (CHARCOAL)
A blouson based on a British military track jacket.
This is a useful item for this time of year as it can be worn as both an outerwear and an innerwear.
The fabric is 80% ramie/20% cotton, and has a lovely slubby, navy-tinged charcoal grey texture.
The raglan sleeves with darts create a smooth shoulder line and a sharp silhouette.
It has a fold-over stand collar and double zipper, so you can wear it in any way you like.
The double layer construction of the same fabric gives it a moderate weight and creates a relaxed silhouette.
The colour of the fabric is best seen in natural light, so please see here for reference.
The rough texture of the ramie feels very comfortable against the skin.
This is a loose-fitting jacket that looks neat and compact.
Two other shirt styles have sold out, leaving only these three in the lineup.
By the way, the autumn/winter lineup that we were really looking forward to was lost, so it was not possible to release it. This is a very unfortunate and disappointing story.
I hope to see more expansion in the next season.
Despite the pound getting stronger, there are more and more British-made items on display in stores.
Traditional items never get boring and can be worn for a long time. The more you wear them, the better their texture will improve and the more complete the product will be.
British products have a craftsmanship feel to them, and there seem to be an increasing number of people creating new things, which is what makes them so appealing.
There are many simple items here that can be used for a long time and are easy to incorporate into your wardrobe.
Please take it in, wear it, and enjoy the feel.
We have replaced the vintage clothing in the store with spring items and added new brands, so the store is now very voluminous.
We look forward to seeing many of you at our store.
