TRUJILLO'S for Lakewood Clothing
"CHIMAYO VEST"

Hello, this is Miyaji.
I haven't been there for a while, so this is the first time we've had stock in a while.
The Chimayo vest I ordered previously has arrived.
The colour this time is also excellent.

TRUJILLO'S
Trujillo's is one of the leading weaving shops in the Chimayo region of New Mexico, USA, where traditional methods have been handed down for generations. Widely known as a specialist in Chimayo blankets, each blanket is handcrafted by weavers living in Chimayo and the surrounding area. The founder, John R. Trujillo's, is said to have the world's best techniques, and today, the company is made up of only artisans who have worked in the company for many years, led by his son Carlos Trujillo's, making it a highly valued brand.

"Trujillo's" are still woven using traditional methods on old-fashioned looms.
There are three workshops, like the so-called "Big Three," and all three are excellent in their own way, but the one I like the most is "Trujillo's."

The quality of the thread is different, and the fabric is stiffer than the other two, but the feel of the thread and the color scheme with the inner pattern are excellent.
Also, there are no side seams, meaning it is made in one piece with no seams at the sides, making it extremely labor intensive.
This is why it is said to be the highest peak in the world.
It's also the most expensive, but the finish is satisfactory.
Even though you can choose the base color, the color scheme of the pattern cannot be decided in detail, so each item will be treated as a one-of-a-kind item.
And because production is limited, the number you can order is also limited.

First up, Navy.
The yellow thread stands out against the beautiful indigo-like navy color.
It's a color that is easy to use, so it's recommended for those looking for something simple.

TRUJILLO'S FOR LAKEWOOD CLOTHING CHIMAYO VEST (DUSTY BLUE)

A dull blue for connoisseurs.
I named the color Dusty Blue.
It's a blue-grey kind of color.
Although this is an unusual color, it can be used in the same way as blue and goes well with many other colors.
Recommended for those looking for a stylish color.

TRUJILLO'S FOR LAKEWOOD CLOTHING CHIMAYO VEST (RED)

It's perfectly balanced with the colour scheme inside.
The red used in Chimayo vests is often a bright red, which is said to be an unpopular color, but our shop uses a subdued red thread.
Although it may seem flashy, this color is surprisingly easy to wear.

TRUJILLO'S FOR LAKEWOOD CLOTHING CHIMAYO VEST (PURPLE)

Personally, my favorite is purple.
I don't think there are many people who think about making purple in general, but in actual fact, in local weaving shops, purple is often used.
In New Mexico, purple is also the city's signature color, and even the souvenir tees feature a purple body.
In fact, I think this color also goes well with most basic colors, and it can be worn in the same way as Navy, so I personally find it an easy color to use.

TRUJILLO'S FOR LAKEWOOD CLOTHING CHIMAYO VEST (BLACK)

Finally, basic black.
Last time I made one in a flashy color, there was also a demand for it in black, so I made one too.
It is simple, but the great thing about Torfilios is that the pattern in the diamond shape inside is extremely detailed and woven in with an incredible amount of detail.
It's quite beautiful!!

This is the best of Chimayo, and is also great as folk art.
All Trujillo's vests are not monotonous, but each one is made with a high degree of freedom, making them truly special.

Since this is a special occasion, we would like to suggest a color selected by our store.
I ordered the same size as last time, but the tag said XL. (The measurements are the same.)
You can assume that all Trujillo's Chimayo vests sold in our store are one size.

It is a looser fit compared to the Chimayo vests that have been sold on the market until now, but this size is designed to be worn over a hoodie or knit.
The fabric is stiff at first, but don't worry, it will become more comfortable as you wear it.

I chose these colours because I somehow thought they would go well with a grey hoodie.
Of course, you can wear anything other than sweatshirts over a tailored jacket, such as a denim jacket, a cut-and-sew top, or a knit.

Personally, I'd like to get the purple one, but I'll wait a while.
If you're looking for a different color, be sure to get it soon.

I don't know how long I'll be able to keep making these, so if you come across a pattern that you like, be sure to get it.
It may be a bit of an exaggeration, but I recommend that anyone with a taste for the art form should try to get one in their lifetime.

Well then!!
