Detail :
The Wilson Crewneck is inspired by sweatshirts from the 1930s to 1950s.
Made from 15oz loopback cotton French terry.
This high-quality fabric was sourced from a Japanese spinning mill with a history dating back to the mid-19th century.
The weight of the fabric is neither too heavy nor too light, making it ideal for year-round wear.
In a nod to authentic vintage style, the ribbing at the cuffs and hem is cut 4 inches high.
All seams are finished with overlock and double needle coverstitch to ensure durability and long lasting quality.
Crafted with meticulous attention to detail, this crew neck is dyed using a special process to give it a realistic tanned look.
In creating this capsule collection, we were inspired by American and European folk art from the late 18th and early 19th centuries.
I saw many pieces from the period that reflected this unique art style, including paintings, household items, and even tools.
The team of designers created their own folk art through a variety of approaches, ranging from collage work (a method often used in the process of creating album art) to continuous line drawing (an art style suitable for embroidery).
The color palette was inspired by several different artworks, choosing colors that blend best with each other and highlighting primary colors as the base.
It seems like someone in the family found a piece of handmade folk art or an ancestral work jacket and recreated the story by hand embroidering it.
