MARK.S “ELIANE JACKET” (Black)
SPECIAL ANGOLA VELOUR
Made in Japan
The "ELIANE JACKET" is a cropped zip blouson that has been continuously developed since the 26SS season.
It features a rounded silhouette characterized by a generous width, a cropped length, and gathered detailing at the hem and cuffs. It is equipped with a chest pocket and two waist pockets on the front.
The material used is "SPECIAL ANGOLA VELOUR," a unique velvet fabric combining wool and angora.
The warp is made of worsted wool yarn, while the weft is woven with 100% angora woolen yarn, followed by a brushing process. By carefully pulling the angora weft to the surface and beautifully aligning the pile, the fabric achieves a three-dimensional texture unique to velvet.
The height of the pile raised through the brushing process and the inherent loft of the angora woolen yarn combine to create remarkable volume. While visually striking, the material retains the signature lightness and soft touch of angora.
During the brushing process, a special glazing treatment is applied to create a deep luster that shifts beautifully depending on the angle. The finished product is then washed, intentionally subduing the sheen to achieve a natural texture that is not overly ornate.
The shadows within the pile create nuances of light and dark within the black, making this a piece where the presence of the material stands out even in simple styling.

MARK.S is a brand that values receiving clothing through pure "sensation" rather than understanding it through words or logic.
In today's world, overflowing with information and explanations, clothing is sometimes discussed through words long before one ever touches the physical object. However, for the things that truly captivate us, no reasons or evaluation criteria are necessary.
Aged textiles, rags, and long-loved vintage wear possess a beauty that cannot be fully conveyed by words alone. MARK.S’s craftsmanship began with the pursuit of that extremely personal and intimate sensation born between such clothing and the wearer.
The designer personally collects hand-woven and hand-spun fabrics, antiques that have remained unused, and deadstock textiles from all over the world. Focusing on natural materials, they produce items in small quantities in Japan, making the most of the unique expressions and history each material holds.
In the traditional Amami Oshima mud-dyeing process, the use of mud, tree bark, and iron-rich soil creates colors with depth and fluctuation that can only be born from that land's nature. Furthermore, depending on the fabric, it is slowly woven over time using vintage-style looms close to hand-weaving machines.
This represents a set of values different from mass production that prioritizes efficiency. Creating clothes that do not waste materials, are not swayed by the times, and remain into the future while changing alongside the wearer. Each MARK.S piece is imprinted with the designer's aesthetic sense and the traces of time accumulated.
The designer's name and background are not made public. This is based on the idea that they want people to look at, touch, and feel the product itself before any of that information.
The brand name "MARK" means a sign, record, trace, or symbol. The "S" layers the meanings of Special and Supreme.
"The designer's record/archive."
The name MARK.S embodies the desire to leave one's own aesthetic sense in clothing as a singular trace.
