Detail:

A deadstock plaid work shirt from BIG MAC, circa 1970s.
We have unearthed 5 pieces in total.

BIG MAC is a private brand developed by the long-standing American department store J.C. Penney. Since its inception, the brand has focused on workwear, offering garments that combine practicality and durability.
This piece is in deadstock condition, still retaining its original paper tag.

The plaid pattern features a white base with thin navy lines overlaid.
By varying the thickness and spacing of the lines, it achieves a simple yet sophisticated look.
It features flap pockets on both sides of the chest with the pattern placed diagonally. While it retains the classic details of a work shirt, its appeal lies in a somewhat refined and composed atmosphere.

The material is a polyester-cotton blend fabric.

True to the "NO-IRON" standard that symbolized the easy-care era, the fabric is wrinkle-resistant and easy to handle for daily wear.

It features a silhouette with moderate room and a gentle rounded hem.

It works well for casual styling with denim or chinos, and you can also enjoy a more polished look by pairing it with slacks.

An unused item that still retains its original paper tag after all these years.

Though not flashy, the balance of the color scheme and pattern is excellent, making this a vintage shirt you can enjoy for a long time.
