MARK.S “DOMENICO PANTS” (Stripe)
-WOOL STRIPE

The “DOMENICO PANTS” are a staple of the MARK.S collection and continue to be offered by the brand.
Based on the timeless design of dress pants, the designer has paid meticulous attention to the balance of the details to create a unique silhouette. Combining a refined appearance with ease of movement, these pants are easy to incorporate into a variety of styles.

They are made from MARK.S’s original wool fabric, produced in Ichinomiya City, Aichi Prefecture, one of Japan’s leading textile-producing regions.

The warp threads feature TOP yarns arranged in a hairline pattern, while the weft uses yarn-dyed worsted yarn. Woven in a herringbone structure, they create delicate stripes and a sense of depth.
The weaving density is slightly lower than standard specifications, and the fabric is thoroughly washed to bring out the natural softness and loft of the wool.

Even in the final fabric-finishing process, the surface is not pressed flat, allowing the natural texture of the material to remain. Furthermore, a sun-drying-like finish creates natural wrinkles, and the garment is washed after sewing to give it a soft, broken-in appearance from the very beginning.

They feature the refined look of classic striped dress pants while maintaining a natural texture that feels far from stiff. These pants fully express the unique qualities of wool, from the weaving to the finishing.

All MARK.S products are sewn in Japan. While some may incorporate vintage fabrics from overseas, deadstock fabrics, or handwoven fabrics, the sewing—the foundation of the manufacturing process—is consistently carried out in Japan.

The staff member wearing them is 173 cm tall, weighs 60 kg, and is wearing size 3.

Brand: MARK.S (Mark S)

MARK.S is a brand that values understanding clothing not through words or logic, but through pure “sensation.”

In a modern world overflowing with information and explanations, clothing is sometimes talked about more than it is experienced. However, something that truly captivates the heart requires no reasons or criteria for evaluation.

Historical fabrics, vintage garments that have been cherished for generations, and time-worn vintage wear possess a beauty that words alone cannot fully convey. MARK.S’s approach to making clothing began with the pursuit of the deeply personal and intimate sensations that arise between such garments and the people who wear them.

The designer personally collects handwoven and handspun fabrics from around the world, as well as antique and deadstock fabrics that were left unused. Primarily using natural materials, small quantities are produced in Japan while preserving the unique character and history of each material.

In the mud-dyeing technique that has long been passed down on Amami Oshima, mud, bark, and iron-rich soil are used to create rich, nuanced colors that can only be born from the natural environment of the land. Depending on the fabric, old-style looms similar to handlooms are also used to weave slowly and carefully over time.

This represents a set of values different from mass production, which prioritizes efficiency. It is about creating clothing that does not waste materials, is not dictated by the trends of the times, and changes alongside the person who wears it, enduring into the future. Each MARK.S garment bears the designer’s aesthetic and the traces of the time invested in its creation.

The designer’s name and background are not made public. This is based on the belief that, before any such information, people should first look at, touch, and experience the product itself.

The brand name “MARK” means a sign, record, trace, or symbol. “S” stands for Special and Supreme.

“The designer’s record / archive.”

The name MARK.S embodies the desire to leave one’s own aesthetic as a trace in clothing.
