Detail :
This collection was born out of my fascination with illuminated manuscripts from medieval Europe. The more I looked at these intricately beautiful manuscripts, the more I noticed the humorous little creatures drawn in the margins. I imagined that the monks had secretly added these creatures freely while enjoying their wine.

After some research, I discovered that this was actually a phenomenon called "marginalia," a general term for scribbles and annotations drawn in the margins of books and manuscripts, sometimes for no apparent reason or because of a paper shortage.

Taking inspiration from this, we imagined a fictional museum that collected the relics and collections of medieval saints. We named it "Ilustrious Relics of Helmstedt" as our slogan. Helmstedt is the hometown of the designer's mother and the town where her grandmother still lives. This land, built in the Middle Ages, was a natural fit for the collection's worldview.

The graphics pay homage to the meticulous brushwork of the Middle Ages and incorporate the spirit of marginalia. Featuring a small, flying devil, a beautiful angel, and an homage to the "medieval zodiac," which was used as a medical guide at the time, the collection brings the serious and humorous atmosphere of the Middle Ages to modern wear.
