au CONCOURS

A London-based fashion brand established in 2023, helmed by New Zealand-born founder and designer Christopher Smith.

Drawing inspiration from 1960s-70s motor racing culture and vintage workwear, the brand offers clothing that combines classic tailoring with utility.

At the heart of its craftsmanship are the concepts of slow living and fast driving. The goal is to create high-quality clothing that fits into daily life, suitable for everything from going out to dinner to working under a car.

Without compromising on the selection of materials or hardware, nor on the fine details of the tailoring, every piece is crafted in close collaboration with the makers. The brand pursues the creation of garments that break in and deepen in character with wear, intended to be passed down beyond the wearer's lifetime.

In this feature, we introduce the brand's iconic leather jacket, a simple yet high-quality zip hoodie, and our shop-exclusive striped long-sleeve tee.

Cevert Fabricators Coat

The leather jacket that defines the brand. The model name is derived from French racing driver François Cevert.
The brown and black versions use British cowhide, approximately 1.1–1.3mm thick. Cutting and sewing are performed in London.
Characterized by its large, rounded collar and line of front snap buttons, the unlined construction allows the leather’s natural movement and drape to shine through.
The boxy silhouette, reminiscent of workwear, makes it easy to incorporate into your everyday wardrobe.

It pairs perfectly with denim, of course, but I also encourage you to enjoy it with slightly more formal trousers, such as wool slacks. It works with wide, straight, or flared fits, allowing for a variety of styling options.

A striped tee featuring a fantastic narrow-pitch stripe and collar ribbing color scheme.
We selected the fabric ourselves for this exclusive release for our shop.

Striped cut-and-sews are items I’m always hunting for in vintage collections.
I find it fascinating how the impression changes depending on the color combination and pattern visibility.
We selected two types of fabric; the colorways are unique, yet easy to style.
They work well on their own, or layered under a jacket or shirt to let just a hint of the pattern peek through. I hope you’ll choose one while considering what you already have in your wardrobe.

For my build of 173cm / 60kg, size L fits normally.
Size XL offers a slightly relaxed fit, and XXL if you want an oversized look.
We have M sizes available too, so please choose your preferred fit.
These are also Made in LONDON, using soft, light-ounce Japanese cotton.
I’ve already decided to buy both colors.
