LAKEWOOD COWICHAN SWEATER

LAKEWOOD COWICHAN SWEATER

Hello.

Starting with the Lakewood Clothing x Macmahon Knitting Mills Cowichan, the brand has gradually released private label-style products, including logo caps.
From next year onwards, developments will increase little by little at our own pace.

I don't just create things, I basically create things with a base and a story in mind.
We ask people who have the background or expertise to do the work.
When I purchase items from my personal collection, I come across old clothes that I think are a shame to have, and I'm thinking about updating them, or rather, turning what's no good into what's good, thinking about how it could have been improved.

I'll be making them bit by bit, so I'd be happy if you could collect them.

It's finally getting cold...
It looks like it's about time for it to be featured, so I'd like to introduce it again.

MACMAHON KNITTING MILLS "LAKEWOOD COWICHAN SWEATER" (BLACK)
Size: OS

Macmahon Knitting Mills is a Japanese brand that specializes in handcrafts with origins in India and Nepal.
All of the brand's products are hand-knitted and handmade, and are characterized by the look and size that are unique to hand knitting.
I don't know how to put it, but I feel that if a Cowichan is too neat it feels out of place, so I try to preserve the rough feel that only hand-knitted items can have.
However, I would like to create a different nuance from that of vintage clothing.
Also, since I don't want a heavy Cowichan, I chose one that is light and easy to wear.
If you look for Cowichan jackets in second-hand clothing, you'll find that woolen ones from the 60s and 70s are often heavy and dense, with a dry, crisp texture.
Around the 80's, there were more cute patterns, but they were made of synthetic fibers like acrylic or nylon, so they were light, but the feel was also light...or rather, they had a somewhat synthetic feel to them that was not so great.

We had this Cowichan created with both of these atmospheres in mind, but also with the idea of a Cowichan that can be worn in modern times.

One size fits all and is perfectly balanced for both men and women.
It goes well with any style, so be sure to try it out.

By the way, the base is a red Cowichan that was purchased during a purchasing trip when the company was founded.
It's what you call the older one.
I later found out that the zipper was broken and it was quite small so I couldn't put it in the store for the time being, but I like the deer pattern.

The Cowichan jackets I pick tend to be quite flashy, so I wanted to make something more chic and went for a black base, but the balance wasn't quite right, so I added the word "Lakewood" to it.

By the way, "Lakewood" is the name of the place.
It's an ambiguous place, like a residential area, where you can't really picture anything in particular.
The ward was good, and Lakewood was located in three areas that I had visited during my previous employment.
A fictional warehouse and shop that exists out of nowhere.
That image is where it all began.

By the way, the popular caps are made as souvenirs from the store.
Up until now, whenever I go shopping I have collected souvenirs from all kinds of places and sold them, and these are the souvenirs from here.
The good thing about it is that it's light and easy to pick up.

If I were to create something in response to the season, the purpose would change, so I would like to create my own staple items based on the ideas and encounters I have as I go about my daily life.
If you like it, please try it out.
